What is squarewolf?

Well, the question is WHO is squarewolf… And it’s me! squarewolf is my nickname (all lower-case, mind you!). My real name is Thomas Vervest and I’m a Dutch programmer currently working at feest.je in Groningen. My main interests are playing base, playing games, making games (although none of them ever make it past pre-alpha ><), having a beer with friends and my girlfriend and (of course) android!

In the time that I’ve been a developer I’ve started focussing on user experience. A good interface design makes the software easy to understand and “read”, a good software design actually makes the software do what you want. Users should have the feeling that the application is interacting with them, giving them hints and helping them out when nessecary. This is what I do, I make intelligent software for mobile applications.

So, what’s this website about?

Well, mostly about programming. It’s were I keep track of all the quirky bugs I encounter during my daily work as programmer (and, of course, their fixes), but it also contains my ideas and opinions about code and ideas from other programmers/websites that I encounter. Ofcourse every now and then I might throw in a post about design or usability, but about 90% of the site will contain code. What’s that? You’re not a programmer and you don’t read code? Bummer dude, you’ll be missing out on some good stuff!

But this is more than enough text for the about page, it’s time for you to go and explore the site! I hope you enjoy ^^

Kind regards,
- Thomas, a.k.a. squarewolf
